Day 1

Ayu-bowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka

Your Chauffeur will welcome you at the arrival hall and will drive you to your Hotel in Colombo, where you can rest from the long flight.

Day 2

Safari in Minneriya National Park

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 4 hrs)

After breakfast, we will star your journey to Habarana. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a safari in Minneriya National Park, famous for its high concentration of elephants.

Day 3

The Lion Rock of Sigiriya and Dambulla Cave Temple

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 3 hrs)

Today, before the temperature gets too hot, you will climb Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most dramatic, inspiring and beautiful historical locations in the world. Sigiriya was built in 5th century as a fortress-palace. Worthy of being called the “8th wonder of the world”, this place will astonish anyone with its outstandingly beautiful views, staggering engineering and peerless design, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures.

After Sigiriya, we will start our journey direction Kandy. On the way there, not to be missed is the visit of Dambulla Cave Temple, which consists of a complex of Buddhist image. Its rock ceiling is one large sweep of colorful frescoes, some of which dates back to over 2,000 years, which depicts Buddhist mythology, and the tales of the Buddha's previous births. This cave temple has the largest number of Buddha statues all housed in one place, including a 14-meter long, colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha.

Late afternoon, you will watch a cultural show featuring traditional Kandian dancing.

Day 4

Visit Kandy and transfer to Nuwara-Eliya, the picturesque “Little England”

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 2 hrs)

After breakfast, you will visit the “Dalanda Maligawa”, the Temple of the Tooth. This important temple hosts the sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha, brought to Sri Lanka in 4th Century A.D. This sacred relic has ever since been the symbol of sovereignty for the Sinhalese kings and always enshrined in great splendor. Kandy’s Dalada Maligawa is a magnificent shrine, with decorative walls, golden roof and fine woodwork.

Following the Temple of Tooth, we will stop at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, renowned for its collection of a variety of orchids. It includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medical plants and palm trees.

Only then, we will start our journey to Nuwara-Eliya. Not to be missed is a visit at a Tea Plantation and Factory, where you will learn the process of tea making, from plucking the leafs to the final taste of world famous tea.

Day 5

Trekking on Horton Plains and train to Ella

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 1 hrs | 3 hrs | 3 hrs)

Early morning (departure at around 5 am) we will transfer you to Horton Plains, where you will experience a trekking taking you to World's End, a sheer cliff with a drop of about 4,000 feet, and Baker's Falls.

After the trekking, you will catch a train to Ella, running through endless tea plantations and stunning sceneries.

Day 6

Safari in Yala National Park and the holy city of Kataragama

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 1 hrs)

Early in the morning, you will dive into nature with a safari in Yala National Park, famous for the high concentration of leopards.

In the afternoon, you will visit Kataragama, a sacred city with a great religious and historical significance, bringing together Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims and Christians each day to worship at its numerous temples of all faiths. Each day, at specific times the Hindu shrines come alive when poojas (devotions) are presented to the Gods: baskets filled with fruit and flowers, burning incense and oil lamps, dashing of coconuts, clanging of bells, and the continuous chanting, truly a mesmerizing experience.

Day 7

Lunugamwereha and Bundala National Park

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 1 hrs)

In the morning you will enjoy a safari in Lunugamwehera National Park, an important habitat for water birds and elephants.
In the afternoon, it will be the turn of Bundala National Park, the ideal park for bird watching.

These two parks, located both in the vicinity of Yala, will not disappoint you if you are passionate of waterbirds, elephants, deers and alligators.

Day 8

Visit Galle Fort and a Turtle Hatchery

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 5 hrs)

After breakfast we will start our journey to Waskaduwa.

Before reaching our destination, we will visit the famous Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, originally built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and then further developed by the Dutch and the British. A maze of narrow roads lined with small houses, art galleries and shops with Dutch are characteristic of the fort.
Moreover we will stop for a visit at a Turtle Hatchery, where you will see how the team of this non-profit organisation is trying to save different type of turtles from extinction.

Relax on the beach of Bentota

For the next 3 days, you will relax on the beach of Benthota, where you can practice water sports, such as diving, snorkelling or surfing.

Day 12

Goodbye! Sri Lanka

Your adventure in Sri Lanka has come to an end. Your chauffeur will transfer you to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
