Day 1

Ayubowan, welcome in Sri Lanka

At your arrival, our representative will welcome you at the arrival hall. You will be then transfer to the Hotel where you will rest for the long flight. Check-in from 2 pm.

Day 2

Transfer to Kandy surrounding by tea plantations

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 4 hours)

You will start your tour leaving for Kandy. Enroute you could admire the landscape passing by Kadugannawa Gap and visit a tea plantation and a factory, where you will assist to a live demonstration of the process of tea production, from the tea leaf to the final product.

Before reaching Kandy will stop at two important temples, the Temple of Gadaladeniya and Lankathilake.

In Kandy you can admire the city from the height of Kandy View Point and visit a gem factory. Here you could see the manufacturing process of these precious stones to which Sri Lanka is famous, up to the finished product in its most varied combinations.

In the evening, you could watch a typical dance show.

Day 3

Visit of Dambulla Cave Temple

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 3 hours)

In the morning you will visit the holiest place of the Buddhists, the Dalanda Maligawa, the Temple of the Tooth, that hosts the sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha, brought to Sri Lanka in 4th Century A.D.

Your trip will go to Habarana, stopping at a spice garden, where you will learn the basics of cooking and Ayurvedic medicine.

Before reaching Habaraba, you will pay a visit to Dambulla Cave Temple. This temple is a UNESCO World Heritage site and includes 80 caves well-preserved, but major attractions are spread in 5 caves which contain statues and paintings representatives Buddha and his life. The ceiling of the largest cave is decorated with paintings that follow so perfectly the natural rock surface that look like it was covered by a cloth.

Day 4

Safari Minneriya National Park and Pic-nic on the Lake

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 30 min)

Today you could dive into nature with a safari in the National Park of Minneriya, famous for its high concentration of elephants.

Once you come back from the safari, you will stop at a Batik workshop, where you will see the meticulous work and techniques behind these pieces of art, up to the final result.

For lunch you will taste a traditional cuisine, based on fish caught by you, in a suggestive picnic on the shores of Lake Kandalama.

Day 5

Visit the Lion Rock of Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 2 hours)

Early in the morning, before temperatures warm up, you could climb the impressive Sigiriya, also known as the Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress.

Sigiriya is one of the most beautiful location of the island, 150 m. higher than surrounding area. On its summit there are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens.
On the way up, in a small cave, you could admire secular painting survived in the form of frescoes which preserve all the freshness and delicacy of their original colours.

In the afternoon you will reach Polonnaruwa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which remained the Sri Lanka's capital from 11th to 13th century. Here you will see ancient sculptures and amazing temples, as Lankatilake Vihara, Thuparama, Tivanka and Gal Vihare.

Day 6

Return to Colombo for departure or transfer to the beach

 ( Transfer time : Approx. 4 hours)

Today you will come back to Colombo for departure or, if you have chosen to extend your stay, you will be transferred to the preferred beach resort.
